2019 Buy Local Month and Shop Independent Week

Buy Local Month (November 22 – December 22) encourages all to buy local and keep holiday dollars flowing within our community. During Buy Local Month, we work to showcase the great work local businesses are doing for their community and to steer consumers to these businesses at the height of the holiday shopping season. This includes Shop Independent Durham Week, which kicks off on Small Business Saturday, November 30th and runs through Sunday, December 8th. Register to align your business with the Buy Local campaign! Deadline for registration is October 30th.

2020 Eat Local Month

The purpose of Eat Local Month is to provide the Durham community with educational opportunities and events to help everyone learn more about local foods, farmers, restaurants, and businesses. Meanwhile, the goal of the Eat Local Challenge is to help consumers “make the shift” in their spending towards local products and businesses.

Participants in the Eat Local Challenge will be asked to shift at least $10 of their weekly spending toward locally-sourced food, drink, and specialty crops, which include fruits and vegetables.

Align your business with this Eat Local campaign! Deadline for registration is March 1st, 2020
